Camo and Poka dots for a little Marine Princess

With all the commotion of packing and moving, picking paint colors and choosing flooring styles, job hunting and interviewing, I haven't exactly been a faithful blogger lately.

Not much has changed.

I have about 4 and a half minutes left in blogger haven....

Remember this post about a fun surprise I was slaving over?
(and when I say "I", I really mean my fabulous mother who did most of the work)

Well... my surprise was a custom made diaper bag for my best friend who is expecting little princess in less than a month!

Her husband is in the Marine Reserves and expecting to deploy sometime within the year, so I decided she and her little one HAD to have a bag to support their hero!

My amazing (and I mean A-M-A-Z-I-N-G) mama spent hours trying to accomplish my "vision"... without a pattern I might add. (Sorry Mama!) I found a BDU jacket at a local military surplus outlet, but couldn't find a pattern for shirts-turned-into-bags anywhere.

I found adorable pink poka-dotted liner and a fabulous shabby chic lace ribbon at hobby lobby when I was on vacation visiting my sister, then buttons and ribbon to finish it off.

I LOVE how it turned out!

I first got the idea from a delightful website called Hero On My Arm.
These ladies are amazing! Be sure to check them out!

Looks like my four and a half minutes are up...
I promise to be a better blogger after this crazy move!

Guess What?!

If you were wondering where I've been the last couple of weeks,

I have a perfectly legitimate excuse this time....

First- it was my birthday.

And my hunky soldier in ACU's arrived at my door holding these beauties.

(I know- he's amazing)

Second- I had a fabulous girls day with two of my favorite people.

Oh- and their adorable little princesses.

One of which who happens to be my niece.

Last, but not least, my every spare moment for the last week has been consumed with

wrapping, labeling, taping, packing, folding, cleaning...

Why you might ask?

Well... it's because we BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!

It's a work in progress, but we're moving into our first HOME.
ahh.... how I will never miss apartment living.

These are a Few of My Favorite Things...

As an avid Arbonne supporter and fan, most of the products I use are from their amazing line.

They tend to be a little pricey- but they last forever.

But the best part? Their products are all natural, botanically based and organic.

NO creepy weird chemicals! No mineral oil like sooo many other companies!

(for those of you who don't know...mineral oil is in most over-the-counter-find-in-walmart products...and its refined crude oil. on your face. ewwwwww.

While I'm plugging away- if you're interested, email me!

I am a preferred customer and have a consultant in the family!

More about Arbonne later...

What this post was really about before I climbed up on my soap box-

My favorite products.

You will soon notice that not all of them are indeed Arbonne, because once you find that amazing must-have, -if you ever go out of production I'll die-product...it's hard to switch over.

My single most favorite product EVER. Let's just call it the itty bitty miracle worker.

I never leave the house without it.

Super smooth gloss. Love it. This is a recent find.

If you've never tried mineral powder, you should. You would never know you're wearing it, it's so light and smooth. It has great coverage and lasts all day.

Black eyeliner used to scare me. no joke. I have super blue eyes and applied the wrong way, I can look pretty darn scary with black rings and piercing eyes. This little baby helped me conquer my fear and now I almost always wear it!

The next few faves aren't exactly cosmetics, but I love them.

If you are like me, mornings are not exactly sunny side up... a little whiff of this and I'm wide awake! It's also great for soothing sore muscles and clearing stuffy allergies.
Caution: a little bit goes a long way
One of my new favorite scents. It is sweet and sophisticated, I always feel pretty when I wear it.
I bathe in this fabulous stuff.
It's super soft, creamy and I drift right into sweet lavender dreams.

These are only a few of my favorite products,
but definitely my must-haves of them all.
I would love to hear what your favorite products are.

So, what's in your makeup bag?
Or more importantly, what's in your clutch or
purse that you never leave the house without?

Monday's Must Read

From the Author:

What’s going on in a man’s mind? From their early days, every woman has struggled to understand why males behave the way they do. Even long-married women who think they understand men have only scratched the surface. Beneath a man’s rugged exterior is an even more rugged, unmapped terrain. What bestselling author Shaunti Feldhahn’s research reveals about the inner lives of men will open women’s eyes to what the men in their life—boyfriends, brothers, husbands, and sons—are really thinking and feeling. Men want to be understood, but they’re afraid to “freak out” the women they love by confessing what is happening inside their heads. This book will guide women in how to provide the loving support that modern men want and need.

The Truth About His Inner Life He Desperately Wants You to Know

What's going on in there? Ever been totally confused by something your man has said or done? Want to understand his secret desires and fears, his daily battles that you know nothing about? In a woman-to-woman conversation you’ll never forget, Shaunti Feldhahn takes you beneath the surface into the inner lives of men. This book is about the things we just don’t ‘get’ about guys. With findings from a groundbreaking national survey and personal interviews of over one thousand men, For Women Only is full of eye-opening revelations you need to not only understand the man in your life, but to support and love him in the way he needs to be loved. Grounded in biblical hope, you will discover how to love your man for who he really is—not who you think he is.

Story Behind the Book

I had no idea how clueless I was about men until I interviewed a bunch of them for my last novel. Initially, I just wanted a little insight so I could write my main (male) character. But pretty soon I found myself astonished, over and over again blurting out, “That’s what you’re thinking?” So I did more interviews. After the novel hit shelves, dozens of women told me they also had been astonished by what I included. Clearly I wasn’t the only one who needed more insight on this! To lay the groundwork for this nonfiction book, I wrote out the half-dozen things from these interviews that had most surprised me—things that appeared to be universal to most men—that women desperately needed to know. I conducted a professional national survey of men to test my findings. Yep—the survey substantiated every single one. These findings are fascinating—and they have already changed my life and marriage. I can’t wait to share them!
