I Pinky Swear...

For any of you who still follow me after all this time....

I swear this post didn't make me a liar.

I really will be blogging more.

swear it.
cross my heart.
pinky promise.

This week hasn't exactly gone as planned...
see I had every intention of posting pretty fall pictures
and before and after photos of my half-decorated house...

I had posts written in my head just itching to be typed and uploaded.
I was going to tell you all about my cousin's precious little girl who just turned a month old
and my gorgeous niece who is crawling and babbling and sitting like a big girl!

instead-
I have been popping excederin like it was candy.
laying in a dark room with NO noise
head burried under a pillow
an ice pack under my neck AND over my forehead.
I've been miserable with horrid migraine headaches.
I have NO clue why or what caused them,
but the last three weeks have been hell.
I swear out of the last 23 days, I've had a headache 20 of them
and a migraine at least 7 of them.

U.G.H.

If any of you have ever experienced them, I am SO sorry.
You have my deepest sympathy...
Thankfully I have an amazing husband who has been waiting on me hand and foot.
Who prays over me when I wake up and before I go to sleep.
Who takes the day off to go to the doctors with me and brings me ice and gingerale.
Who watches football with headphone because I can't handle the noise
but have to be "next to him".

Tomorrow I have an MRI to see what the heck is going on.
I'm a little nervous because I'm a teensy bit claustrophobic, and I've heard stories.
ahh. but I would be locked in a tube for hours if they could just.make.them.stop.

*****

I'll leave you on a happier note... a teaser until I have the opportunity to post again..

Welcome to my first home sweet home.

Now that's what I call a successful lunch break!

My blog posts have been few and far between as of late.
I really hate that.

All day long I have a thousand things racing through my head,
I have about ten 'potential' posts filed away up there
but after an 8 hour day and two hours of travel
I am exhausted when I get home.

And I would apologize, but thats life right? Working, family and a two day rest.
I'll figure it out eventually. promise.
Until then, I'm trying my best to sneak in post at least once a week.

I did however manage to make use of my lunch breaks-
having a Mardens and Renys 5 minutes from work is dangerous....
Here are my latest finds. I am SO excited to decorate.
Decorate my new house. Decorate for fall.

Inspiration for the guest bedroom.
I love the vases I found, they are so bright and fun!
The curtains are a light blue/green with chocolate trim and a pretty scarf to overlay with.
I love it!
A rust colored kitchen towel that matches the wall color and dining room curtains.
Beautiful imitation blue glass I found to decorate the kitchen with.
I love the contrast between rust and deep blue.
Just a few things I've collected along the way.
I'm not sure what will go where, but I'm having fun playing with the color tones.
I'm so excited to get moved in and decorate for fall too!
It just so happens that pumpkins will match my kitchen perfectly.
Oh! I love fall!

Jumbled Mess

Ever have those days when everything goes wrong before you even touched your toes to the floor?

of course you have. it's called life isn't it?

Today is one of those days.

This week is one of those weeks.

You aren't really expecting an actual post are you? Because all I've got are jumbled thoughts and lists flying in and out of my scrambled brain. So that's what you get....still love me?

List 4 thousand 9 hundred and 64.

* I got a job! Not exactly the job of my dreams persay...but the people are fabulous and I am loving the office life again. Not so much the hours or the subject matter, but God truly had his hand in this. but more on this later because this is suppposed to be a list...

* My Soldier and I have been staying with my parents, our whole life stored in their basement...anxiously awaiting the closing of our new house.

* I am currently sitting (yes-sitting) on an ice pack. Why? 4:30 am trip to the little girl's room and I, in my delirious state, fell half way down the stairway. kerrsmack! yikes. It hurts bad. My chiropractor appointment can't come soon enough.

*I have nine gagillion things I want to do and NO time to do it.

* I haven't talked to my best friend in a week. (thats YEARS for us)

* My other best friend is having a precious baby girl in 3 weeks and I haven't seen her baby belly in a month. NOT OK.

*This new working woman- white collar thing- I am exhausted! Driving an hour to and from work is going to get old reallll fast. Thank God the office is fabulous.

* I realized yesterday that I have 5 saved posts, all of which aren't completed and all of which I really wanted to share with you! soon...

*It has been horrifically hot here the past week...we're talking high 90's and humidity. yuck.

Isn't it September in New England?

*
I am SO excited for fall weather! Pumpkin candles, pumpkin spice coffee!, apple-picking, crisp morning air, soccer games, scarves! (I love scarves!) ahh...Don't you love fall?!

What's on your mind this morning?

Camo and Poka dots for a little Marine Princess

With all the commotion of packing and moving, picking paint colors and choosing flooring styles, job hunting and interviewing, I haven't exactly been a faithful blogger lately.

Not much has changed.

I have about 4 and a half minutes left in blogger haven....

Remember this post about a fun surprise I was slaving over?
(and when I say "I", I really mean my fabulous mother who did most of the work)

Well... my surprise was a custom made diaper bag for my best friend who is expecting little princess in less than a month!

Her husband is in the Marine Reserves and expecting to deploy sometime within the year, so I decided she and her little one HAD to have a bag to support their hero!

My amazing (and I mean A-M-A-Z-I-N-G) mama spent hours trying to accomplish my "vision"... without a pattern I might add. (Sorry Mama!) I found a BDU jacket at a local military surplus outlet, but couldn't find a pattern for shirts-turned-into-bags anywhere.

I found adorable pink poka-dotted liner and a fabulous shabby chic lace ribbon at hobby lobby when I was on vacation visiting my sister, then buttons and ribbon to finish it off.

I LOVE how it turned out!

I first got the idea from a delightful website called Hero On My Arm.
These ladies are amazing! Be sure to check them out!

Looks like my four and a half minutes are up...
I promise to be a better blogger after this crazy move!

Guess What?!

If you were wondering where I've been the last couple of weeks,

I have a perfectly legitimate excuse this time....

First- it was my birthday.

And my hunky soldier in ACU's arrived at my door holding these beauties.

(I know- he's amazing)

Second- I had a fabulous girls day with two of my favorite people.

Oh- and their adorable little princesses.

One of which who happens to be my niece.

Last, but not least, my every spare moment for the last week has been consumed with

wrapping, labeling, taping, packing, folding, cleaning...

Why you might ask?

Well... it's because we BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!

It's a work in progress, but we're moving into our first HOME.
ahh.... how I will never miss apartment living.

These are a Few of My Favorite Things...

As an avid Arbonne supporter and fan, most of the products I use are from their amazing line.

They tend to be a little pricey- but they last forever.

But the best part? Their products are all natural, botanically based and organic.

NO creepy weird chemicals! No mineral oil like sooo many other companies!

(for those of you who don't know...mineral oil is in most over-the-counter-find-in-walmart products...and its refined crude oil. on your face. ewwwwww.

While I'm plugging away- if you're interested, email me!

I am a preferred customer and have a consultant in the family!

More about Arbonne later...

What this post was really about before I climbed up on my soap box-

My favorite products.

You will soon notice that not all of them are indeed Arbonne, because once you find that amazing must-have, -if you ever go out of production I'll die-product...it's hard to switch over.

My single most favorite product EVER. Let's just call it the itty bitty miracle worker.

I never leave the house without it.

Super smooth gloss. Love it. This is a recent find.

If you've never tried mineral powder, you should. You would never know you're wearing it, it's so light and smooth. It has great coverage and lasts all day.

Black eyeliner used to scare me. no joke. I have super blue eyes and applied the wrong way, I can look pretty darn scary with black rings and piercing eyes. This little baby helped me conquer my fear and now I almost always wear it!

The next few faves aren't exactly cosmetics, but I love them.

If you are like me, mornings are not exactly sunny side up... a little whiff of this and I'm wide awake! It's also great for soothing sore muscles and clearing stuffy allergies.
Caution: a little bit goes a long way
One of my new favorite scents. It is sweet and sophisticated, I always feel pretty when I wear it.
I bathe in this fabulous stuff.
It's super soft, creamy and I drift right into sweet lavender dreams.

These are only a few of my favorite products,
but definitely my must-haves of them all.
I would love to hear what your favorite products are.

So, what's in your makeup bag?
Or more importantly, what's in your clutch or
purse that you never leave the house without?
